DESCRIPTION OF WORK The primary responsibility of the microbiologist is to apply biological techniques to various environmental samples in order to isolate, identify, and quantify significant microorganisms.

Work involves preparing samples for analysis, conducting analyses on water and wastewater samples for sanitary indicator bacteria, pathogenic protozoan, water quality indicator plankton, and other micro-organisms of environmental significance. In addition, you prepare microbiological media, reagents, and laboratory equipment necessary for all phases of bacteriological analyses.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position requires you to work one (1) Saturday shift per month from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree in microbiology; or A bachelor's degree that includes 20 credits in microbiology, cellular biology, molecular biology or bacteriology and 12 credits in chemistry or biochemistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three (3) months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
