DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring lower-level examiners. You will have overall responsibility for the financial examination, including the accuracy, clarity, and completeness of the examination work papers and the final Report of Examination submitted to the Bureau Director. You may have the opportunity to travel to examination sites, both within and outside of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to meet with insurance company personnel and oversee the work of the examination team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Director to coordinate insurance group financial examinations with other states Managing the entire examination including but not limited to, scheduling, preparing planning and procedural forms, budgeting, coordinating, monitoring progress, and managing closing processes Communicating effectively with management and the insurer, regarding the details of exam findings through Reports of Examination, management letters, and exit conferences Attending regular meetings Providing technical assistance and policy guidance Preparing monthly status reports Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Work hours may be flexible within operational needs. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as an Insurance Company Examiner 3 (commonwealth title); or Designation as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Fellow of the Casualty Actuary Society (FCAS), Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Associate of the Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS); or Designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and two years of professional experience in the audit or examination of the financial conditions and operations of insurance companies; or Five years of professional experience in the audit or examination of the financial conditions and operations of insurance companies; and a bachelor's degree that includes 6 college credits in accounting, 3 college credits is finance or economics, and 3 college credits in business law; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 6 college credits in accounting, 3 college credits in finance or economics, and college 3 credits in business law. Other Requirements: This particular position also requires possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) license.
