DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position provides second-level support and overflow support for items covered by the IT Help Desk. Performs software installations, upgrades, configurations, and diagnostics. VPN support. Information Technology Generalist 1 performs PC software audits using ECM(SCCM) reporting or manually as required and removes any non-business-related software. Duties include installs detection and removal software, which has the ability to scan PC memory, registry, hard/removable/optical drives for known data-mining, aggressive advertising, and tracking components to remove hidden folders and processes running on the workstation.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Travel as needed. Telework:  After a 6-month probationary period, you may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:  The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
