Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Fire Services Technical Advisor in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4449837 THE POSITION Would you like to be a part of the team that builds a new program to assist the Commonwealth Fire and Emergency Services Organizations with the tools necessary to change, retain and sustain the public safety system in PA. The Office of the State Fire Commissioner is looking for an energetic team member to support the Fire Service Recruitment and Retention program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Under the supervision of the Recruitment and Retention Administrator, this position will assist various organizational structures and locations with accessing various services for recruitment and retention, assist with development of regional and statewide networks for collaboration on data interpretation and planning. Develop, implement, and conduct educational sessions for awareness and access to training and services that support recruitment and retention efforts for the fire service.

The specialist position will also provide technical assistance to local fire dept., public safety agencies and local government for recruitment and retention initiatives.  Attend meetings, conferences and seminars as professional development, increase job knowledge to stay current on topics that promote and educate on recruitment and retention.  Conduct research and surveys of recruitment and retention education programs, determine outreach strategies, evaluate to determine effectiveness of implementation of strategies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Free Secure On-site Parking Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Dependent on activations or other needs of the operation. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time successful completion of a comprehensive on-site training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of professional experience in planning, developing, coordinating, or promoting fire services, emergency management, or public safety programs; and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional experience in the planning, development, coordination, or promotion of fire services, emergency management, or public safety programs.
