Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Ecological Program Specialist in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK An Ecological Program Specialist provides professional land management and environmental management work statewide for the Agency and manages certain aspects of the Game Commission's Oil/Gas and Mineral (OGM) Recovery Program. This position develops, coordinates, implements, evaluates, and promotes statewide oil, gas, and mineral resource programs designed to protect wildlife resources and their habitats. Your focus will be monitoring and reviewing oil/gas resource recovery operations on State Game Lands, conducting periodic field inspections, and resolving any environmental impact resulting from oil/gas recovery operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:45 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Wildlife Biologist 2 or Natural Resource Program Specialist 1 (commonwealth titles); or Three years of experience as a Forester (commonwealth title); or Three years of professional experience in management of plant, wildlife, or natural resources and a bachelor's degree in biology, botany, ecology, environmental science, forestry, natural resources management, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
