DESCRIPTION OF WORK A Database Administrator 1 is primarily and independently responsible for supporting and managing all aspects of the agency's database servers and ensuring their performance, availability, and security. This lead role utilizes agency and Commonwealth standard tools to direct and perform all associated functions. Responsibilities also include maintaining existing agency relational databases to support a variety of systems, providing direction and support for administration and best practices, and collaborating on design and planning to meet PGC's current and future needs. You will also have the opportunity to consult and coordinate with other agencies and analysts as well as provide technical training, leadership, and direction to developers and staff as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Database Analyst or Information Technology Generalist 2; or Five years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration; or Three years of information technology experience that includes two years in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or One year of information technology experience in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
