Reference #: 4379368 THE POSITION The Bureau of Driver Licensing is hiring a Clerical Assistant 2 who will be responsible for processing assigned work for customers under suspension, revocation, disqualification and/or cancellation and who are attempting to restore their driving privileges by complying with requirements as mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (Title 75). The Clerical Assistant 2 will also ensure proper notification of and return of products and correspondence to the customer as directed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Vehicle Code.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position the Clerical Assistant 2 will perform data entry of various types of work received in the unit.  Duties include updating PA driver/non-driver records by processing forms, statements, and other documents received through the mail from customers whose driving privilege in PA is suspended, revoked, canceled or disqualified. The incumbent must maintain an accurate log of work received.  Mail work is to be logged in to the unit and distributed to the staff in WID sequence for processing; all other work is distributed by priority.

The incumbent of the position must maintain an accuracy rate of at least 98% (2% maximum error rate). Work leaders will provide feedback to staff regarding correct processing procedures and train new employees to meet quality standards, as well as compiling and maintaining reporting systems pertaining to processing and error rates.

In this position the Clerical Assistant 2 will ensure that all fees received within the unit are accounted for and delivered to the appropriate work unit daily.  The incumbent will perform data entry of various types of work received in the unit, responds to phone calls (public and internal), and respond to internal requests.  In addition, the incumbent must maintain files of license products.  Receives license products from sanctioned drivers, maintain accurate records of the products in a secure filing system and returns products to customers with correspondence when their sanctions have been completed and their driving privilege are restored.  Supports and promotes Driver and Vehicle Services quality and service initiatives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621 (before taxes) You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
