DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is an entry-level development position working in a team environment. As an Applications Developer 1, you will be providing support for the manual and automated testing functions for all HHS DC applications, including both internal and enterprise applications. Work includes developing various test types such as functional tests, regression tests, and exploratory tests, as well as creation of input data for test cases for all HHS DC applications. You will be working on testing teams in the area of ADA/Section 508 Accessibility Compliance Testing in support of the the Section 508 Amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Additionally, as this is a development position, any application developed which interfaces with users must adhere to these standards. You will have the opportunity to work with contractors, program offices, and application teams to understand and identify requirements and needs as they pertain to testing. You will be responsible for documenting activities and processes as they relate to testing in order to assist HHS DC staff in replication of activities and for mentoring purposes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Free parking located at the building. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to report in-office at minimum one day per month, this could change to include more in-office days. You must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Computer Programmer 2; or Three years of information technology experience that includes one year of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
