Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
Candidates will be responsible for working in the shipping department of a production facility. They will be responsible for working in the warehouse side of the plant but also crossing over to the production side to take finished goods back to the shipping area to be sent out.
Responsibilities
Supplying materials to the production lines
Keeping track of material flow and inventory
Skid wrapping and palletizing products
Using an RF Scanner
Using a reach truck to load trucks and transport material and sit-down forklift
Occasionally using a cherry picker
Shipping products using UPS and FedEx
Essential Skills
1 year of forklift experience
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds if required
Computer literate
Attention to detail
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience as a material handler in a manufacturing setting
OSHA Forklift Certification
Basic knowledge of JDE systems and kanban
Previous experience working in a lean manufacturing setting
Experience using stand-up forklifts

Work Environment
The production floor and warehouse are split up, but candidates should expect to work in both areas of the plant. The facility is well-lit and relatively clean, although it is not climate controlled and can get hot in the summer. Safety is a key focus and is highly prioritized in our culture.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover Park, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
