Google Transportation Operations Manager in Hanoi, Vietnam

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience in the logistics industry, managing vendors or in a business operations role.

  • Program management experience in implementing change management.

  • Transportation experience in one or more transportation modes (Air, Sea, Express, Rail, Truck) domestic or international.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in a Transportation Operations Manager position or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent time management skills with demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and juggle ever-changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Collaboration experience with external and internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to actively participate in complex technical discussions.

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.

The Google Hardware team is looking for a Transportation Operations Manager to help drive forward the hardware business. On a day-to-day basis you will drive process improvement and apply general problem solving skills across our transportation, distribution and factory locations supporting multiple countries. You will also play a key role in supporting the delivery of global projects and managing regional specific initiatives.

  • Manage the business-to-business operations for the Asia-Pacific region, managing transportation carriers and engaging with key retail partners for delivery.

  • Lead a cross-functional team of logistics specialists in the development and support of a launching a new product introduction.

  • Support new country expansion and launches by reviewing all delivery capability requirement plans, along with an assessment of the robustness of the solution to meet the requirement of the operation, and the implementation of any additional solutions to mitigate any risks to the plan.

  • Serve as the senior transportation advisor for the product line for the end life cycle of the product. Ensure transportation operations readiness for all phases of the introduction cycle.

  • Lead regional improvement projects and assist in the delivery of regional elements of global projects.
