    Under the direct supervision of the Residential Manager, the Assistant Residential Manager will oversee and maintain successful operation of a (9- 10 bed) co-ed Community residence serving Individuals with severe mental illness. The Assistant Residential Manager is expected to carry out responsibilities with the utmost professionalism, be forward-thinking, and act as a positive role-model.

  • Demonstrate ability to problem solve, multi-task, and conduct research to resolve program concerns in a timely manner in conjunction with the Residential Manager

  • Be available during assigned shifts to address emergent needs, offer triage and support; Work with Residential Manager to ensure 24/7 coverage of CR;

  • Act in the capacity of a Residential Manager in the absence of; Work with Program Administration to verify successful operations of the program.

  • Exhibit effectiveness in handling crisis situations, deploying resources, and communicating effectively to required parties.

  • Maintain COVID protocols, as directed.

  • Provide training, direction, and supervision to full time, part time, or on-call Residential Counselors assigned to the program as well as assigned by the Residential Manager; Maintains own training compliance

  • Assists in coordinating all services for Individuals- including linkages to day treatment, therapy, medical, psychiatric, financial, etc. considering the Individuals’ choices.

  • Thoroughly prepares for OMH/OMIG/Internal Management Audits; Conducts regular self-audits of records to identify areas of concern; Duties are divided/assigned by Residential Manager

  • Oversees and implements agency medication protocols; Regularly monitors Individual’s awareness and adherence to their prescribed medication regimen; Works collaboratively with the Medication Specialist and Residential Manager to ensure OMH Medication protocols are followed by staff

  • Participates in MANDATORY staff meetings at least once per month- Alongside Manager, prepares a thorough, professional agenda; Maintains minutes of staff meetings as well as a sign-in sheet; Attends monthly Managers’ meeting- showing up timely and prepared to present on Program updates

  • Develop specific Individual Service Plans, conducts review every 90 days as required- and invites all parties the Individual deems necessary to partake in their recovery plan; Maintains active target dates on the service plan necessary for service delivery

  • Assists in coordinating the implementation of Restorative Service Goals, including staff assignments for goal-related activities, data collection, progress notes, billing requirements.

  • Participates in bi-annual Utilization Management Reviews and ensures completion of Recovery self-assessments and other billing components.

  • Works collaboratively with clinical department (BIS) to complete/oversee ABC sheets, other behavioral tracking mechanisms making certain that Behavior Plans are successfully implemented; Maintain records and submit according to program due dates.

  • Utilize Precision Care for all documentation; Run monthly reports on progress notes; Identify areas of concern and share findings with Residential Manager.

  • Assist in managing staff schedules, required trainings and staff onboarding.

  • Reviews/approves own timecard.

  • Participates in the admission/discharge process, including trial visits, and 30-day discharge Follow up report.

  • Confidently Represent agency to other service providers and community groups.

  • Assists in overseeing the cooking needs with healthy menu planning, food shopping/ordering, and meal preparation, incorporating the dietary needs of the individuals. Review the weekly Menu, making any needed changes, and sign-off prior to the start of each week.

  • Submit Weekly Food ledgers/receipts and Monthly Recreational receipts, van logs/receipts, etc. as assigned by Residential Manager.

  • Maintain documentation of annual/bi-annual medical appointments (i.e. physical /PPD/Psychiatric/Psychosocial); conduct routine audits of PC- ensuring face sheet is current with diagnosis’ changes within 24 hours of update

  • Accompany residents on medical appointments utilizing agency vehicle; Assign to Residential staff as appropriate.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgement always.

  • Ability to keep up with a multitude of emails via Microsoft Outlook; Perform other duties via Microsoft Suites (Excel, Word, Teams)

  • Effectively manage time, organize workspace, demonstrate proactive planning/prioritize to accomplish responsibilities.

  • Ensuring organization of monthly recreation activities to promote independence, wellness, and community integration.

  • Establish and maintain professional, interpersonal relationships; Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.

  • Efficiently handle complaints, settle disputes, resolving grievances, conflicts, and offer mediation. Direct to Residential Manager or Administration, as deemed appropriate.

    This is afull-timeposition located in Hampton Bays, NY Tuesday through Friday 12pm – 8pm and Saturday 8a-4p. Managers are required to be on call as needed.

    Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma with at least 5 years’ experience working with the mental health population, or an Associates Degree with 2 years of Human services experience.

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships

  • Excellent verbal & written skills

  • Proficiency in computer skills including MS Word, Excel & Outlook

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Highly organized, and detail oriented including time management

    Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree with a degree in human services

  • At least 1 year experience working within an OMH funded residential setting
