Aston Carter Accounting Consultant in Hamel, Minnesota
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Consultant to join our team. This role will initially involve heavy transactional tasks with the potential to grow into a more complex and rewarding position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, particularly in Sage and account reconciliations, and be eager to take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves.
Responsibilities:
Approve and transfer project transactions, maintain reports, and prepare intercompany billing
Create projects as needed
Set up tech labor employees
Allocate expenses such as hotel and cab charges
Allocate insurance costs
Manage debt/interest and loss contingencies and accruals
Allocate benefits and accrue bonuses
Manage prepaids and staged payments
Review cost centers
Perform balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and post journal entries and reclassifications as needed
Assist with the preparation, analysis, and reporting of assigned general ledger account reconciliations
Assist with monthly and year-end closings, including processing assigned accruals and analyzing assigned business segment results
Assist with capital expenditure administration, including fixed asset processing and reporting
Assist with processing and administration of treasury management, technician labor reporting, and intercompany and expense reporting transactions across assigned business segments
Maintain data integrity and code part hierarchy within the ERP system
Coordinate efforts with broader accounting teams, including finance, tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost, and payroll
Qualifications:
5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on Sage and account reconciliations
Experience with accounting, account reconciliation, prepaid accounts, and expense management
Knowledge of benefits, lease accounting, and fixed assets
Strong skills in using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and XLOOKUPs in Excel
Experience in the manufacturing and/or service industry is a plus
Work Environment:
This is an in-office role with flexibility for weather, appointments, etc. The core working hours are from 9 AM to 4 PM, with some flexibility around these hours. You will receive training and spend most of your time with the Payroll Specialist who was recently promoted from this role. Our team consists of approximately 30 individuals in Accounting, Finance, and Payroll. We use IFS for our ERP system and Sage for lease accounting purposes. The office is located in a convenient location for those living in the west metro area, offering a pleasant work environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00/hr.
