Eaton Corporation Specialist MV Transformer in Hadapsar, India

EIIC has an opening for a Specialist MV Transformer for its ESS (Electrical Systems and Solutions) business. In this role, an individual will be responsible for technical ownership of the MV transformer portfolio. S/He should act as a guide for multiple projects on Design & Development, plant manufacturing issues, Customer complaints and supplier support. S/He should contribute to develop product / technology roadmap by understanding market needs.

Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, strong motivation for pursuing project objectives and the ability to learn new techniques and development processes. We are looking for candidate who is able to see the bigger picture; strength in a system-level viewpoint is a must.

Qualifications:

  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to understand customer needs, idenify product gaps and develop proposals for bridging the portfolio gaps

  • Technical responsibility of transformer portfolio and projects

  • Lead high-level design efforts on the projects running across global teams, covering specifications, design, development, test and design release

  • Establish technical framework for better prediction of perfomance paramenters during design phase. Practice and deploy 'first time right' desing approach in the projects.

  • Active participation in GPL (Global Product Line) forum and contribute to high level business strategy for transformer product.

  • Participate in affinity groups at EIIC level to establish better collaboration within different teams working across the center.

  • Keep track of changes happening around the world in codes and stanadards, guidelines and trends for transformer and ancilliary product lines.

Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree with a minimum of 15 years of industry work experience. OR

  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree with a minimum 12 years of industry work experience.Hands on working experience on distribution transformer is must.

  • Design and development of dry and wet type transformers.

  • Carring out certification testing at third party labs.

  • Knowledge of 3D modelling software and PLM systems

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing and performance issues along with solution building.Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge and experience on transformers.

  • Experience working on a cross-functional, world-wide development project

  • Ability to work in lab environment around high voltage where safety awareness is critical.

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications.

  • Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements.
