Position: Reservoir Petrophysicist

Job Summary:

The Reservoir Petrophysicist will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting petrophysical data to evaluate reservoir properties and performance. This role involves collaborating with geologists, engineers, and other technical professionals to integrate petrophysical data into reservoir models and support decision-making processes. SLB is seeking a skilled Reservoir Petrophysicist to join our dynamic team and contribute to Field Development work and related consultancy work.

The Reservoir Petrophysicists actively participates in promoting new technology and services offerings and supports the product line in risk management and applying lessons learned to improve job design and execution as related to the area of expertise. They provide real-time support to operations as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret well log data, core samples, and other petrophysical data to determine reservoir properties such as porosity, permeability, saturation, lithology.

  • Utilize advanced petrophysical software and techniques to process, analyze, and interpret logging and core data.

  • Analyzing core analysis lab data to compute rock types and derive core-based saturation height function.

  • Integrate petrophysical data with geological and engineering information to help building accurate reservoir models.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support reservoir characterization, development planning, and production optimization.

  • Support reservoir management team by providing insights into fluid dynamics and reservoir behavior. Ensure seamless integration of petrophysical data with seismic and production data to enhance hydrocarbon recovery strategies.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of logging programs and ensure quality control of acquired data.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in petrophysical techniques, technologies, and industry best practices.

Additional Requirement Experience required:

  • Apply the latest technology and efficient workflows to generate petrophysical work processes.

  • Follow up well operations, propose and provide technical advice on data acquisition, coring, and testing operations.

  • Designing, supervising and evaluating data acquisition programs.

  • Evaluate and normalize field wide petrophysical data.

  • Train, mentor and develop the young professionals on relevant skills.

  • Ensuring optimal design and suitable technologies are selected for data acquisition.

  • Consult with relevant subject matter experts as required to optimize the technical design.

  • Experience in providing technical support throughout the service delivery process.

Reports to the Geoscience Team Lead

Educational qualifications:

Master Of Science, Master. Tech. in Geology/ Geophysics/ Geoscience.

Professional Experience:

5-10 Years as Reservoir Petrophysicist, with E&P/ Service industry.
