Group Summary

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

About the Role

The World Class Manufacturing Lead, (WCM), will support and drive culture change to achieve a World Class Manufacturing environment and encourage creative and innovative thinking.

Salary range; $75 - $90,000 annually

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct value stream mapping, process mapping, time studies and production audits.

  • Initiate, drive and implement change.

  • Lead focused improvement activities to drive improvements through lean manufacturing.

  • Provide coaching and training to employees in WCM methodologies and tools.

  • Provide leadership to teams throughout the plant promoting employee engagement.

  • Be a role model to create an environment of trust, participation and accountability.

  • Identify best practices to simplify and standardize work to deliver improved performance.

  • Assist with WCM project management and evaluate “what if” changes to operational processes.

  • Identify opportunities & advise on appropriate training and coaching to improve systems.

  • Perform time studies and collect appropriate data.

  • Facilitates problem solving and continuous improvement in all areas of production.

  • Help determine priorities for process improvements that impact production and business results.

  • Encourage creative and innovative thinking.

  • Ability to effectively initiate and implement change.

  • Internal and External Audits (MAFACT, TS/IATF, Health and Safety, 5S)

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for

  • Strong ability to initiate, drive and implement change.

  • Lead focused improvement activities to drive improvements through lean manufacturing, coaching and training to employees in WCM methodologies and tools.

  • Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Engineering or a related field required.

  • Minimum three years of experience in a large fast-paced manufacturing environment required.

  • Experience communicating with all levels of employees including management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

  • High level of mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, build and lead effective teams.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and attention to detail.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office).

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD an asset.
