The FSQR (Food Safety Quality and Regulatory) Summer Student will be responsible for supporting the Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Department through collaboration with the operations team to meet food safety and production objectives. The technician will be expected to have the ability to take on a variety of roles as required, including but not limited to food safety monitoring and accurate paperwork completion. This position requires to work under special temperature conditions as 90% of the time the job will be done under 0 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Job Type: Full Time | Temporary from May 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024
Shift available: Afternoon
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
Principal Accountabilities:
Carry out on-line monitoring and inspections
Record keeping related to the food safety related monitoring tasks (e.g., audits, on floor titrations and other measurements etc.)
Other tasks as required
Required Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping
Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme cold (0 – 4 degrees Celsius)
Must be able to communicate in English (Verbal and written)
High School diploma or equivalent
Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a production related work
Able to work overtime
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions
Multi-tasking capabilities and willingness to learn
Previous food safety and quality assurance experience
