Job Summary

Responsible for handling regular and special payroll processes on time, termination calculations for MX associates, review and analyze payroll calculations provided by the payroll vendor in order to have an accurate payment based on Mexican federal law. Ensure legal compliance matters in payroll such as the social security, infonavit and fonacot processes, taxes overview, personnel files administration. Partner with 3erd party payroll vendor on payroll calculations and resolution of issues. Handles associates questions regarding payroll payments, paystubs, employment letters. Benefits enrollment and contract signing for new hires.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Utilize analytical ability to ensure pre-payroll processes such as payroll incidences, loans, deductions, bonuses, one-time payments, acuity anywhere stipend, union fees, union paychecks, ensure workforce software processes such as enter the LOAs, timesheet closing, etc.

  • Solve payroll issues and make recommendations related to: payroll calculations for regular and special processes provided by the payroll vendor based on the pre-payroll data sent, terminations in order to have an accurate payroll payment based on Mexican federal law, saving fund reconciliations, terminations paychecks delivery, food coupons correct payment, etc.

  • Special payroll payments in Mexico: PTU, Christmas bonus, annual bonus, vacation premium, saving fund, Gain share bonus, tax adjustment, etc.

  • Ensure legal compliance matters in payroll such as social security notifications on time, infonavit deductions and fonacot reconciliations, alimonies payments, etc.

  • Benefits enrollment such as medical and life insurance, bank and food coupons cards administration for new hires.

  • Provide advice and direction to associates and managers for questions regarding payroll payments, missing payments, paystubs, employment letters.

  • Personnel files administration, ensure employment contract´ signature for new hires, payroll orientation, workforce training for new hires, etc.

  • Payroll projects involvement, new operations requirements, payroll implementations, etc.

  • Bachelor’s degree on Business Administration, HR, Finance or similar

Experience (i.e. industry experience)

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in:

  • Knowledge of Mexican payroll processes, payroll calculations, payroll systems, procedures (weekly, semi-monthly, biweekly), termination calculations, payroll process for + 1000 associates.

  • Knowledge of Mexico's federal law, social security, SUA, Infonavit, fonacot (Mexican organizations).
