Supply Chain BT Product Groups (PGs) are responsible for the product technology direction and serve as a critical point of contact for business and JJT. Individuals in PG organizations work with Senior JJT and Business Leaders to identify and prioritize solutions for their product group and oversee the consistent implementation of these solutions across the business. They will exhibit strong influence and passion for driving the organization towards consistent technology solutions aligned to overall JJT strategy.

Technical Product Owners (TPOs) need to continuously maximize throughput and ensure that value is realized by the business through the JJT capabilities implemented. TPO’s should have a strong view of external IT capabilities in the market and how they can be applied to drive business value for J&J.

The Technical Product Owner will work at the intersection of the manufacturing process business owners & technology across Surgical Vision network to help to define strategies & priorities that combine a deep understanding of business objectives and challenges with technology solutions. Extending these into development execution, value realization & ongoing product management. In this role, you will support/lead the Groningen Make squad in reliability, performance, and right capabilities of the local products specific to the plant (such as new lines, enhancements, and other activities) and support other Surgical sites such as Uppsala, Milpitas, Anasco where needed. This role will also provide coaching to other indirect team members.

Vision & Strategy Definition : shaping the Make business vision corresponding technology strategy & product capability roadmaps around business impact. Understanding and translating business problems faced by the manufacturing site function into a value case for the manufacturing site technology, data, governance & user experience supported by defined, baselined value realization key performance indicators.

  • Define the product vision, priorities and OKRs for the site squad that support the internal manufacturing process/es, aligned to segment/franchise/site technology strategy and roadmap.

  • Establish & align technology roadmaps for the squads to achieve efficient & effective delivery of business & customer value for assigned product / platform including supporting environments.

  • Balance and document business value with technical feasibility while prioritizing features and optimizing cost.

  • Help to prioritize site squad backlogs, manage product / platform constraints, and resolve cross-team dependencies; manage demand intake as required.

  • Accountable for site financial budgets, where applicable and ensure the aligned financial deliverables in accordance with business portfolio and financial cycle timely, such as 5 year finance plan (LRFP), 3 year finance plan (MTP) and year finance plan (BP).

  • Partner with site squad team on prioritization of investments and ensure new capabilities cost is embedded within site budgets.

  • Maintain pulse on site performance metrics to focus on business value realization, available/uptime and pull-through.

External Insights: understanding external insights, trends, leading practices in Make product maturity, machine learning and artificial intelligence space.

Solution Design: ensuring that product development efforts incorporate an approach that starts with experimentation to validate expected impact, includes human centered design, Automation to reduce run cost, embraces agile principles, incorporates external insights, required end to end process optimizations, and compliance engagement.

Value Realization: defining expected value impact of investments across employee experience, functional excellence, efficiency, and compliance.

Architecture: partnering with the architecture team to define the role each system plays within our landscape aligned with business capabilities.

Internal Partnerships : acting as backup for IT site lead to be the primary trusted advisor to senior manufacturing & technology leaders across all lifecycles of Manufacturing product development starting with inception through to value realization & ongoing continuous improvement, and communication of progress against strategic objectives.

  • Orchestrate release of product/platform to the site ensuring reliable, compliant, and secure environment.

  • Be accountable for Cybersecurity/TLM strategy roadmap incorporated into site product roadmap partnering with Information Security and Risk Management to assess and remediate/mitigate technology risk.

  • Be accountable for cross- team communication related to site squad(s).

  • Collaborate across Product/Platform groups to ensure all partners are clear on dependencies, enablers, and prioritization for the site squad(s).

  • Be accountable for site reliability performance.

  • Continuously drive optimization and rationalization of site squad.

  • Responsible for quality and compliance of site squad.

  • Primary JJT SME during internal and external audits.

  • Act as an empowered decision maker with regards to cross squad prioritization, removing roadblocks and driving prioritization and decisions where required

Product Management: partnering with product management teams to ensure roadmaps are oriented to deliver finance business & technology strategy, value creation objectives, and measurable key performance indicators. And ensure all tools/platforms related to product management up to date.

External Partnerships: managing build & run support and vendor relationships to influence development roadmaps & ensure that our needs will be met by our technology partners.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or Manufacturing Operations is preferred.

  • A minimum of 6 years of major IT product design and support in Supply Chain / Manufacturing operations product ownership.

  • Project Management skills/experience in deployment of major IT capabilities (like manufacturing / shop floor systems) across multiple sites is required.

  • Experience within a GxP and environment is required.

  • Good understanding of software development, testing methodologies (SDLC) and customer experience.

  • Foundational skills in Data Engineering, Cybersecurity, Intelligent Automation and Emerging Technology, are required.

  • Deep knowledge in Manufacturing Supply Chain processes and product knowledge.

  • Track record of solving issues related to Manufacturing Process.

  • Track record of project delivery of Supply Chain projects related to Manufacturing Process.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with business partners at different levels to understand business requirements.

  • Experience of managing virtual, multi-location teams.

  • Experience of working in a Shared Services IT Operating model where development and support services are provided by shared services organizations that support multiple functional and organizational units is required.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
