The Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the safety protocols and programs across all projects and operations. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

*This position will be based out of our Palatine office with some hybrid work availability.

*Pay range for this role is $100,000 -$120,000 annually, depending on experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Create, promote, and drive a company-wide safety-first mentality.

  2. Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory laws and standards.

  3. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.

  4. Lead safety training sessions for employees, ensuring awareness and understanding of safety practices.

  5. Investigate accidents or incidents to identify their causes and to determine how they might be prevented in the future.

  6. Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to ensure safety protocols are integrated into project plans.

  7. Maintain records of safety-related incidents and provide reports to senior management.

  8. Stay updated on new safety laws and regulations that impact the company's operations.

  9. Lead company communications with OSHA and other governmental institutions as necessary.

  10. Position safety as a pillar of our drive for Operational Excellence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in safety management, engineering, environmental science, construction management, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent level of experience and education.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably within the construction or renewable energy sectors.

• Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) are highly desirable.

• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety programs and initiatives

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and laws, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.

  2. Proficient in developing and implementing safety policies and programs.

  3. Skilled in conducting risk assessments and identifying hazard prevention strategies.

  4. Effective leadership and communication abilities for leading safety trainings and promoting a culture of safety.

  5. Experience in investigating accidents and implementing corrective measures.

  6. Ability to stay current with safety regulations and incorporate changes into company practices.

  7. Strong organizational skills for maintaining safety records and compliance documentation.
