Job Title: Manager, Communications

Department: A+ Communications

FLSA: Exempt

General Function:

The Manager performs project management and personnel distribution for assigned projects. The Manager actively gathers information on the status of his/her projects and keeps the President informed of issues that could affect profitability. The Manager actively pursues new and/or evolving technology. This position also assists in maintaining a focus on safety throughout the company. The ability to work flexible hours and travel regularly is necessary.

Positions that Report to you: Assistant Manager, Technicians, Customer Service Reps

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and recommend value analysis and scope reduction opportunities on the project.

  • Suggest ways to save money or improve the quality of the project based on project documents.

  • Prepares and implements the project plan.

  • Understands and supports the business group’s safety program.

  • Observe safety procedures and bring any deficiencies to the attention of Leadership.

  • Make recommendations regarding personal development needs.

  • Assist in training and developing others on the project team.

  • Completes performance evaluation for assigned staff.

  • Oversee quarterly inventory accuracy.

  • Coaches and mentors’ technicians on inventory practices and controls.

  • Proceed with work only to the extent of an executed contract and executed change orders.

  • Review and enforce all contract terms and obligations.

  • Observe work in progress during field visits, question any procedures or end-products that don’t appear appropriate and discuss with the General Manager/Salesperson for resolution.

  • Resolve problems with subcontractors, vendors, architects/interior designers and owners.

  • Oversee installation and/or construction progress to ensure the project plan is followed and schedule is maintained. Initiate recommendations to keep project on schedule.

  • Ensure change orders are issued.

  • Oversee project schedule updates.

  • Respond effectively to RFI’s and coordinate response in the field. Verify impact and pricing, if required.

  • Track and resolve subcontractor and materials supplier requests for change. Ensure the appropriate subcontract amendments are issued on a timely basis.

  • Review submittals for accuracy and compliance with plans and specs.

  • Review and submit drawings for local authority review and approval.

  • Ensure that shop drawing and submittal review and approval process is effective and efficient.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Make recommendations regarding staff disciplinary actions, if warranted.

  • Assist in pre-construction phase as requested.

  • Attend regular OAC and job meetings, as needed.

  • Contribute to the vision, goals, and objectives of the company.

  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned.

  • Develop company policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma/GED is required. Industry related college degree and/or 5 years industry related experience is required. Must have a clear background check. Must currently hold and continue to hold a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass an initial drug screen.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Vision requirements are that the employee must see well, either naturally or with correction, and must have good peripheral vision.

  • Must be able to hear well either naturally or with correction.

Working Conditions:

Employee will sometimes be exposed to a fast work pace in a general office setting. Must be able to handle multiple jobs/ situations every day. Exposure to dirt, noise temperature extremes, dampness and vibrations, hazards from moving equipment, dangerous chemicals/ solvents, and electrical shock.
