Robert Half Staff Accountant in Greenville, South Carolina

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in accounting who are ready to thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to the financial success of a growing organization. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting financial operations by preparing and analyzing financial information, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with general accounting duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements to maintain accurate financial records.

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

  • Prepare financial statements and reports to support management decision-making.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.

  • Monitor and analyze financial discrepancies and recommend solutions.

  • Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responses to inquiries.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to streamline financial processes and enhance accuracy.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience (internship experience considered).

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable regulations.

  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
