The Accounting and Reporting Analyst I will provide technical expertise and support to the Americas General Accounting department accounting and reporting activities. Create, maintain, review, edit and audit various financial transactions affecting the general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. Contribute to internal, external, Sarbanes Oxley, and various other audits throughout the year. Support the monthly, quarterly and year end closing activities in the General Accounting department by creating ledger entries, maintaining complex reserve models, monitoring proper revenue recognition, and preparing ledger reconciliations. Maintain accurate reporting schedules including quarterly SEC reporting, federal and state tax schedules, and monthly financial reports. Provide analysis and explanations for ledger and model variances.

The successful Accounting and Reporting Analyst I will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide accounting and reporting results monthly that are in compliance with GAAP and company policy. Responsibilities include recording ledger entries, monitoring balance sheet accounts, and preparing account reconciliations. Identify and effectively communicate to management large account variances and reconciling items.

  • Establish and maintain complex reserve models and methodologies in accordance with GAAP. Establish and maintain procedures for fleet maintenance and deferred revenue methodology. Interact with functional departments to ensure models reflect company practices and future offerings.

  • Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual reporting used for SEC filings and federal and state taxes. Review and compile location and functional department data into Corporate Controller reporting. Accurately complete the accounting schedules in a timely manner to meet the established deadlines.

  • Assist external and internal auditors with their review and ensure that they are provided with all supporting documentation necessary for the completion of their review. Provide assistance with the audit of complex models and the related company policies. Prepare accounting and reporting information, including roll forwards, explanations, and variance analysis to support audit reviews.

  • Support continuous improvement through the analysis of specified data. Apply new accounting principles throughout applicable models and accounts. Analyze various business issues with a goal to apply appropriate authoritative literature (GAAP/SEC) to resolve open issues.

  • Research problems/issues as they are presented to ensure accurate accounting and reporting. Effectively communicate accounting and reporting information to management.

The successful Accounting and Reporting Analyst I will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree with a major in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CMA, MSA or MBA preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.

  • Knowledge and understanding of advanced industry accounting standards, principals, concepts and theory.

  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively and fluently with senior management, functional department leaders and all other internal/external customers.
