JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. You will play a crucial role in maintaining inventory levels, sourcing suppliers, and optimizing supply chain operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
  • Analyze price proposals and other information to determine reasonable prices and ultimately purchasing highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amount
  • Send purchase orders for procured material, add delivery dates to the TCM system and ensure purchases are correct upon arrival
  • Communicate with manager regarding adjusted delivery dates and manage vendors via packing slips and TCM
  • Review compliance and regulations, vendor compliance in coordination with manager for timely deliveries, delivery issues, cost effectiveness and flow of purchases
  • Manage purchases of parts swaps, reorders and other duties as assigned

     

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years experience in a purchasing agent type role and be able to use Microsoft Office applications and more specifically Excel
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources and analyze feedback to select the best market deals
  • Attention to detail, follow instructions and to work independently and with a team required
  • Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to vendors and exchange information via telephone and/or email

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office environment most of time, manufacturing environment some of the time
  • Able to look at computer screens most of time, use of telephone, computer software, and other forms of communication
  • Inter-office collaboration and communication and working with multiple departments and vendors
