About the Role:
Sr. Mgr. External Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing and optimizing our relationships with third-party manufacturing partners. They will be responsible for managing the end-to-end external manufacturing process, ensuring that our partners meet the highest standards of quality, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. This role will also be the liaison between logistics & procurement to ensure cost saving initiatives are achieved. They will also play a role in delivering strategic priorities in the logistics function. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of supply chain management, manufacturing processes, and contract negotiations The will be expected to deliver the following:
Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with external manufacturing partners to ensure alignment with company goals and standards.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and evaluate the performance of external manufacturers, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with third-party manufacturers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that support business objectives.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that all products manufactured by external partners meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with internal supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery of products.
Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets for external manufacturing operations, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for external manufacturing, including capacity planning, risk management, and supplier diversification.
Data Analysis: Utilize data and analytics to track performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve external manufacturing operations.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies in external manufacturing operations.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Important Details: This is a full-time position within our Logistics function. Preferred location in Oak Brook, IL or Green Bay, WI. Need to be in office 3 days a week (Tuesday – Thursday), Monday and Friday are Remote days. 25% travel is required.
About You:
You’ll fit right in if you have:
BS/BA Degree or equivalent work experience is required (Supply Chain/Operations or Business Management is preferred).
Minimum of 7-10 years management experience in any of the following: Supply Chain/Operations/Project Management or equivalent area.
Proven track record of managing relationships with third-party manufacturers and driving performance improvements.
Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract management.
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
Ability to travel as needed to visit external manufacturing sites and attend industry events.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams.
