COUNTY OF BROWN Facility Worker - NEW Zoo in GREEN BAY, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary Performs maintenance tasks including mechanical tasks, cleaning, transporting tasks, security and grounds maintenance throughout Zoo and related Park facilities. Essential Duties Maintains building, equipment and furniture to preserve and extend their useful life. Assumes managerial duties in absence of the Zoo Facility Manager, when required. Cleans interior facilities, including shampooing and cleaning carpets; strips, cleans, and waxes floors; changes and cleans lamps, furniture, ceilings and walls; sanitizes restrooms; pest control. Maintains exterior grounds including snow removal and landscape maintenance. Attends meetings & training sessions as recommended by Supervisor. Perform minor exhibit building and maintenance. Washes and paints interior and exterior of buildings. Maintains Zoo Sustainability documents & assessments. Follows all safety procedures. Operates trucks, tractors, trailers, lawn mowers, and chainsaws. Performs repairs on motorized and non-motorized equipment, machinery, buildings/HVAC systems, and facilities. Assists in Special Event set up and take down. Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots and makes repairs to plumbing and other Park facilities. Oversight of Special Event parking. In the absence of the Zoo Facility Manager, serves as contact person for Sheriff Patrol and remain on-call 24 hours to enforce/respond to Zoo security. Maintains all playgrounds up to standards. Maintains documentation as required. Performs computer entry for data management, including ARCHIBUS. Write work orders for ARCHIBUS. Maintains MSDS documents. Provides back-up coverage of other employees during absences when assigned. Interacts with customers as required in polite and professional manner. Inspects all assigned properties, equipment and facilities/grounds to ensure compliance with established standards, regulations and laws. Performs minor carpentry, plumbing and construction work. Performs related functions as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in general maintenance and housekeeping. Ability to use hand and power tools. Knowledge of minor repair techniques for maintaining facilities and equipment. Knowledge of basic mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and electrical operations. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Knowledge of purchasing procedures. Ability to operate various types of maintenance equipment. Ability to comply with all safety and quality assurance standards and procedures and to recognize safety issues and problems. Ability to administer first aid & CPR. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public. Ability to work the required hours of position, including weekends, holidays and odd & irregular hours. Ability to maintain the confidential nature of client and business information.
