Salary: APT Range 14 ($89,087-$130,881), Negotiated based on experience

Contract Length/ Days: 260 Days

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required: Valid Colorado Teacher s Certificate/License in education or related field Valid Colorado Administrator Certificate/License Master's Degree in Special Education or related field Current Colorado administrator/principal license 3 or more years of experience in district-level special education administration Preferred: Five years of experience in the field of special education

JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: The position will coordinate and strengthen educational programs for all preschool students with an emphasis on building relationships and partnerships across the district's early childhood programs to enhance inclusion and equity across family economic and well-being systems.

Essential Job Functions: Manages and oversees district preschool programs in accordance with state (ECEA) and federal (IDEA) law, including childcare licensing regulations. Provides required preschool licensure training, maintains records, and partners with the HR department on licensure requirements. Supports staff in implementing and providing an enriched environment where students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Supports staff in facilitating learning and guiding students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation. Collaborates with district administration and building principals to design and implement professional development/in-service programs for early childhood teachers, paraprofessionals, preschool ancillary staff, and administration. Hold regular staff meetings for preschool programs. Oversees Universal Preschool (UPK) programs, including enrollment in the state system (Bridgecare). Responsible for the recruitment of families for the UPK program. Establishes and implements procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of the preschool program for the UPK standards. Implements accountable procedures for individual pupil assessment and progress in accordance with state and federal law. Assists Special Education Director and building principals in recruitment, selection, and assignment of qualified special education teachers and ancillary personnel. Establishes standardized written procedures for staffing, referrals, follow-up activities, and program changes. Attends state and regional program meetings and communicates updates from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) to administration and program staff. Represents the district on community and state committees as assigned, and works with parent organizations and advisory groups. Must provide efficient communication with community, family, mental health agencies, and community medical practitioners.

Must be persuasive, alert, creative, and demonstrate patience, initiative, and reasoning.
