Supervision of Personnel:

· Managing anywhere between 40-70 hourly employees

· Managing Hourly Production employees

· Managing Management Support employees

Relationships and liaising within the Company:

· Liaising internally with employees on the production line and plant management

· Liaising externally with the USDA team and Union

Main Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:

· Impacting the overall P&L of the business by analyzing data and making strategic decisions.

· Meeting and exceeding production goals such as setting targets, monitoring progress, and optimizing processes.

· Being responsible for meeting volume goals through the improvement of efficiencies by identifying and implementing efficiency-enhancing measures.

· Being responsible for increasing production attainment volume through process flow management by optimizing the workflow and production processes.

· Improving employee safety by identifying hazards and bringing in problem-solving solutions by conducting safety assessments and implementing safety measures.

· Managing efforts to reach a zero-based budget by planning and controlling labor expenses based on budget constraints.

· Looking for ways to reduce cost through the elimination of waste by conducting cost analysis and waste reduction initiatives.

· Looking for continuous improvement in operating processes and procedures and encouraging hourly team members' ownership of all processes by using the tools and principles of Operational Excellence by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and providing training.

· Educating team members on the principles of Operational Excellence for a better understanding of the problems/solutions by conducting training sessions and workshops.

· Completing daily production plans by scheduling and assigning employees, accomplishing work results, prioritizing, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results on end-of-shift production summaries by overseeing daily production activities and adjusting plans as needed.

· Managing hourly employees' payroll as well as vacation by handling payroll processes and vacation scheduling.

· Adhering to all product specifications to reduce claims and maximize yields by ensuring that products meet quality standards.

· Increasing employee retention and maintaining good working relationships with the Union, USDA, and all employees by implementing retention strategies and fostering positive relationships.

· Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources by guiding safety procedures.

· Ensuring food safety, human resources, and safety policies compliance by all production employees by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.

Working Conditions:

· Production and maintenance settings

· Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives

· Slippery floors, extreme temperatures, and loud noises

· High level of interaction with other departments and employees

· 50+ hours per week, occasionally on weekends

Requirements :

· Minimum 1-2 years of background experience in packing house

· Knowledge of products and their specifications

· Basic computer knowledge

· Being bilingual is important but not mandatory

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule

  • Base salary range starting at $60,000

  • Relocation available if applicable
