Robert Half Senior Accountant in Grapevine, Texas

Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a temporary project with a leading retail company. This is a critical role where you will apply your expertise in accounting and finance to support the organization’s operations during a peak period or special initiative. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger accounts, including preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries.

  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insights to management.

  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and streamline processes.

  • Review inventory accounting, costing, and variance reports specific to retail operations.

  • Provide support for audits by preparing schedules and addressing auditor requests.

  • Analyze financial performance and trends, contributing to decision-making processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA designation is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in retail or a similar industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting processes.

  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with retail accounting, inventory management systems, and cost accounting methodologies.

  • Prior experience supporting finance projects, system implementations, or process improvements.
