Beitzel Corporation Project Manager - Industrial - Field Services in Grantsville, Maryland

Beitzel Corporation is an Industrial Construction and Service Company with nearly 50 years of experience in the Energy, Mining, Industrial Construction, Aggregate, and Renewables Industries. The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.

Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time Project Manager - Industrial. The Project Manager - Industrial is responsible for the initiation, implementation and management of Field Services initiatives and opportunities. The Project Manager is also responsible for supporting customer service and growth within the Field Services division. The Project Manager will manage processes, personnel, and resources to provide services, products and/or deliverables that are on-time, on-budget and that meet or exceed customer expectations. The Project Manager must possess the knowledge, experience, and ability to work with new and/or developed customers to determine business and operational needs and opportunities for Beitzel Corporation and to provide continuous improvements and efficiencies for its customers.

The Project Manager will report to the Group Services Manager - Contract Management and will work primarily out of the Beitzel Corporate location. He or she and must be flexible and willing to work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Communicating personnel, equipment and supply needs to the Vice President of Contracts/Vice President of Projects and participate in the hiring process of staff
  • Upon receipt of order, coordinating with the Office Administrator work orders and job numbers. Reviewing and completing work in progress reports and coordinating and reviewing the billing processes with the Administrative Group Manager
  • Serving as a mentor and team leader to the Field Services Group team
  • Provide training to personnel
  • Supervise the review of TandM tickets, receipts, and other paperwork from the Field staff and ensure accuracy. The Group Manager will train other personnel in the proper completion of paperwork and follow up to ensure compliance and timely delivery of paperwork to the Division Office
  • Approve/ supervise the review of staff time cards and requests for time off
  • In conjunction with the Contracts Management team, organize and manage weekly operations updates for the Vice President of Contracts/Vice President of Projects and serve as the primary responsible party for communicating issues and changes to Division Management
  • Coordinating shared resources and labor pools as required for specific project demands
  • In conjunction with Division Management, managing acceptable inventory levels and scheduling material purchases according to market needs and trends Supervise the day to day activities of office staff and oversee the supervision of the field crew and ensure that all required inspections, technical issues, material deficiencies, safety, and emergency situations are resolved in a timely and efficient manner, as needed
  • Assist other Project Managers in site visits and pre-job walkthroughs and analysis to identify special job needs, challenges, and ensuring adequate staffing and equipment is in place to complete the project within t e customers required time frame
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the foreman and Beitzel Corporation Management. This position will need to identify issues and concerns from staff and ensure that a positive relationship exists between the Beitzel field staff, the customer, and Beitzel Corporation Management
  • Alert the Group Services Manager of non-routine issues and repairs or issues that cannot be resolved in the field or that would jeopardize the operations ability to continue forward progress on the project
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and additional work with the customer, suppliers, vendors, and Division Management
  • Conduct field audits and reviews to identify any potential issues and suggest resolution
  • Aid other management personnel as needed
  • Provide/assist with training of new/inexperienced personnel whether Beitzel Employees or employees of other companies on an as needed basis. This would include coaching and encouraging Beitzel Personnel to demonstrate the attitude and demeanor expected from Beitzel Corporation and handling concerns internally and not involving the customer
  • Provide weekly operations updates, to include updated project schedule and job financial reporting to Group Services Manager

Qualifications
  • Degree in Project or Construction Management, or relevant Engineering Discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of Mechanical or Industrial experience preferred
  • PMP designation Preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Mechanical Services preferred
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
  • Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate any constructive problem solving possible
  • Proficiency in personal computers and software packages including specific knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, or Primavera P6
  • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • This position is subject to the Beitzel Corporation Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing
