Beitzel Corporation is an Industrial Construction and Service Company with nearly 50 years of experience in the Energy, Mining, Industrial Construction, Aggregate, and Renewables Industries. The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.

The general role of the Project Manager - Civil is to be responsible for the initiation, implementation, and management of projects, business services, initiatives, and opportunities within the Field Services Division. This position is also responsible for supporting customer service and growth. The Project Manager will be expected to help with assembling complete and accurate estimates to support the bidding effort for securing future work. This position will manage processes, personnel, and resources to provide services, products and deliverables that are on-time, on-budget, and meet or exceed customer expectations.

This position must possess the knowledge, experience, licenses, and ability to work with new and developed customers to determine business and operational needs and opportunities for the company and to provide continuous improvements and efficiencies for its customers. This position must be flexible and willing to work extended hours and travel with overnight stays as needed.

The Project Manager will report to the Group Manager - Civil Services and will work primarily out of the Grantsville location.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the review, negotiation, and execution of contractual and legal documents with the companys legal and safety departments, Corporate Management, and the Customer
  • Organize, execute, and maintain project records and files within the companys servers and databases
  • Understand and oversee the scope of work and assist with managing projects within the scope of work limits
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers to establish and manage project specific goals
  • Manage material and equipment suppliers to support assigned projects
  • Review and ensure accuracy of time and material tickets, receipts, daily field reports, and other paperwork from field personnel
  • Establish, update, and analyze project schedules as assigned
  • Establish project budgets, track costs, and analyze budgeted vs actual performance of assigned jobs
  • Provide routine cost projections for assigned jobs
  • Participate in Work in Progress (WIP) efforts on assigned projects
  • Coordinate with Accounting to assist with project invoicing
  • Attend project meetings as required to include both company and customer meetings
  • Provide risk management on assigned jobs
  • Provide resource management on assigned jobs
  • Collaborate with the Personnel Coordinator to schedule projects
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers and cultivate customer relations and identify sales opportunities
  • Approve and supervise the review of timecards and requests for time off as needed
  • Identify potential problems and provide innovati e solutions and problem resolution
  • Understand the work and what is required to perform the work
  • Maintain quality and safety standards without exception
  • Coordinate with and assist other trades and disciplines throughout the company as needed
  • Assist other Project Managers with site visits and pre-job walkthroughs and analyze to identify special job needs, while ensuring adequate staffing and equipment is in place to complete the project within the customers required timeframe
  • Participate in project close-out reviews to help identify and document areas for future project improvement
  • Assist with training of new and/or inexperienced personnel, as needed
  • Assist with performance reviews for field personnel

Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in an industrial trade setting or current project management
  • Strong knowledge of safety and construction regulations and practices
  • Possesses OSHA 30 preferred, or ability to obtain
  • Demonstrated strong leadership abilities
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Ability to troubleshoot on-the-job issues effectively and efficiently
  • Must possess the knowledge, experience, and ability to make sound business decisions
  • Proficient in organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and meet budgets and deadlines
  • Possess strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other PC based programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Must be professional and courteous
  • Skillful in communicating information to a team and work in a team environment
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to accomplish common goals
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or oversight
  • Must have a desire for continuous learning and be self-motivated to seek out training opportunities and utilize in-house training resources
  • Must be able to effectively adapt to ever-changing and ever-emerging customer needs

Working Conditions
