Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a professional, full-time, experienced, and ambitiousField Service Supervisor. TheHVAC/R Field Service Supervisor is responsible for leading the field team while performing repairs, maintenance on a wide variety of commercial, industrial and some residential HVAC/R equipment. All members of the HVAC/R Group are expected to provide unmatched customer service. The HVAC/R Field Service Supervisor will also perform needed electrical and plumbing/piping repairs, and installation work as well. This customer service position will require a flexible schedule primarily Monday thru Friday, and may include emergency call-out work, evenings, weekends, holidays, and out-of-town/out-of-area work. As a professional HVAC/R Field Service Supervisor, you will be expected to use your experience and skills to lead the team of HVAC/R field Technicians and Apprentices and to constantly be looking for ways to improve the team and the services that are being provided to the customers.

TheHVAC/R Field Service Supervisor reports to HVAC/R Group management and while the Group is based at our Headquarters in Grantsville, Maryland, most dispatches will be from home to the first job.

Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for service work, repairs, maintenance, and retrofits to a variety of equipment, including but not limited to commercial, industrial, and residential air conditioning, refrigeration, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, compressors, furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, and BAS systems. Some installation work will be included when required. TheField Supervisorwill be the primary resource as needed for Field Techs and Apprentices and will direct field operations on assigned service and projects
  • Be aware of and always practice our Core Values and promote them throughout the HVAC/R Group and all other Beitzel employees
  • Provide quality customer service while troubleshooting and diagnosing air conditioning, refrigeration, heating units and various other associated equipment
  • Service and install natural gas, LP gas and fuel oil burners and furnace systems
  • Direct contact with commercial and industrial customers and this contact is to contribute to the top of the industry customer service experience and to help maintain and build the HVAC/R client base
  • Assist with providing estimates, Proposals, follow-ups, bid preparation and parts orders when assigned or needed
  • Learn, promote and perform all procedures required by the established contract and bidding processes
  • Promote and facilitate collaboration to work closely and effectively with other Field Services Groups and trades
  • Perform elec rical trouble shooting and repair safely and effectively
  • Perform basic plumbing trouble shooting and repair safely and effectively
  • Perform code-compliant work relating to HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical repair, maintenance, and installation
  • Provide detailed paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory. All dispatch and Tech paperwork is done electronically via company provided Windows Surface tablets and iPhone
  • Work professionally, independently and manage time in accordance with dispatch and scheduled work
  • Monitor and maintain inventory to ensure availability of essential parts, materials, tools, and equipment. Assist with inventory management and identifying items needed
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist in other areas of the company

Qualifications
  • Must possess a Journeyman or Master license to perform HVAC/R work with at least 5+ years of progressive repair, installation, and maintenance experience.Residential experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated history of Safety and Safety Awareness
  • Must possess Universal EPA (Sect 608) Refrigerant and Recovery Certification
  • Must possess comprehensive knowledge of materials, methods, equipment, and tools involved in the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude and an ability to problem solve using general physics, the refrigeration cycle and electrical circuit theory
  • Ability to read, interpret and comprehend electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Must have strong customer service skills and enjoy working with the public
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule when required. Work schedule may include occasional weekends, extended hours, and call-out work
  • Must be dependable; trustworthy; possess a positive attitude; and work well with customers and co-workers and independently
  • Ability and willingness to meet with customers (both existing and potential) to promote Beitzel HVAC/R as well as Beitzel Corporation
  • Ability to establish and build confidence with customers and maintain repeat business

Licenses Required

  • Driver's License
  • Universal EPA Refrigerant/Recovery
  • Journeyman HVAC/R License. Ability to achieve and acquire a Master HVAC/R License is desired

Working Conditions

  • Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb ladders and stairs; and crawl
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted
  • Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
  • Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal shoes, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection
