Robert Half Staff Accountant in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting key financial processes. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting efforts, providing actionable insights through variance analysis.

• Monitor compliance with internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting specific to manufacturing.

• Coordinate with external auditors to support annual audits and ensure timely completion of all regulatory filings.

• Contribute to the successful implementation of financial systems and process improvement initiatives.

• Generate ad-hoc financial reports to support strategic decision-making.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting practices and industry standards to ensure best practices are followed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.

• Proficiency in accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous growth and learning.
