Corewell Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Risk Analyst to join our clinical risk team, providing essential support to our West and South regional teams. This pivotal role requires an individual with experience producing data from a robust and dynamic platform, managing projects, and swiftly adapting to shifting priorities. The ideal candidate will possess a background in project coordination and supporting a large and active team; with risk management experience highly desirable. Essential Functions

  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data, identifies and develops data measurements; identifies trends and makes recommendations for process corrective action plans. Coordinates the collection of data from a variety of sources for inclusion in reports and presentations.

  • Administers risk management and loss prevention programs to maintain maximum protection of assets at the most economical rates. Investigates and reports on accidents involving organization products/services in coordination with insurance companies and attorneys. Notifies claims manager if above delegated authority or potential for litigation. Assists in the review of designated insurance and/or risk programs for effectiveness.

  • Performs a peer review function when investigating, analyzing, evaluating, reporting, and resolving incidents and safety events. All records, data and knowledge collected by or for the risk manager when acting pursuant to the risk manager’s peer review function, including but not limited to investigations conducted and reports generated by the risk manager, are confidential and protected from disclosure or discovery by all applicable laws related to hospital quality review/peer review protection, including but not limited to MCL 333.20175, 333.21513, 333.21515, 331.531, 331.532, and 331.533.

  • Requests additional information, where necessary, for completion of documentation. Reviews information for appropriate criteria. Maintains updated records and prepares required reports. Assists in cost control efforts. Performs the design, analysis and delivery of complex claim information. Contacts individuals about claims and coordinates any follow up activities.

  • Maintains effective communication channels to ensure timely completion and coordination of projects within the Organizational Risk Management throughout the Corewell Health System.

  • Assumes accountability for special projects delegated by department leadership. Performs complex legal and regulatory research, as requested by department leadership. Resolves problems requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational and corporate structures, protocols, policies, procedures and strategies. Informs department leadership of any deviation on items requiring their attention. Will ensure timely completion and an excellent work product. Presents findings and progress to appropriate risk management personnel as needed. Ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and Federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation / compliance requirements.

  • From time to time, performs investigations at the direction of legal counsel and works with legal counsel in the course of such investigation to provide guidance, recommendations and other assistance as requested by legal counsel. In such cases, the employee will report directly to legal counsel as opposed to the employee’s up-line leadership, and such work with legal counsel shall be confidential and protected from disclosure by the attorney client privilege and work protect protection.

  • Manages and coordinates several complex concurrent projects. Develops and updates integrated interdepartmental project schedules. Coordinates and facilitates interdepartmental project activities. Manipulates data output to develop unique reports and presentations to meet special requests from Organizational Risk Management staff and reviews reports / data to determine accuracy.
