Position Description:
We are looking for a Natural Gas Engineer to join our ICE Team to improve infrastructure in our Michigan offices. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering field), and have seven to fifteen years of similar work experience. Michigan natural gas utility experience and a Professional Engineer License is preferred. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.

Typical responsibilities include:
- - Design detailed gas distribution systems - Design medium, standard, high pressure steel and plastic gas mains and services - Vertical and horizontal alignment creation - Design regulator stations/districts - Compression station design experience is a plus - Horizontal directional drill (HDD) modeling is a plus - Complete applicable design calculations - Prepare installation drawings and specifications/notes - Coordinate preparation of specifications and permit submittals - Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities - Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks - Monitor task budget and progress - Work with and mentor junior design team - Document design changes and communications - Conduct on-site inspections as needed - Prepare project status and other reports - Assist in the preparation of proposals - Assist and develop into a Project Manager - Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc. - Attend seminars and/or training classes - Maintain excellent client relations - Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
- - Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related engineering field) is required.
Skills/Experience:
7- 15 plus years of experience in natural gas distribution systems/design, natural gas infrastructure, regulator station design, high pressure steel, compression and government regulations is required.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
