Job Title: Apprentice Plumber
Job Description
Perform new construction installations of plumbing equipment for commercial sites throughout West Michigan. You will work with copper and PEX plumbing materials, using hand and power tools to hang, solder, and thread pipe to completion. The role requires the ability to read a tape measure, cut, and level piping installations.
Responsibilities
Perform new construction plumbing installations at commercial sites.
Work with copper and PEX plumbing materials.
Use hand tools and power tools to hang, solder, and thread pipes.
Read tape measures accurately and ensure piping installations are level.
Fit and solder copper pipes.
Thread pipes as needed.
Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and standards.
Use personal hand tools including a tape measure, channel locks, drill, and level.
Essential Skills
Ability to fit and solder copper pipes.
Proficiency in threading pipes.
Understanding of general plumbing practices, including hanger fabrication and code compliance.
Possession of personal hand tools: tape measure, channel locks, drill, and level.
Comfortable working at heights, typically around 20ft, with some work up to 100ft.
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience operating equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and ladders.
Knowledge of PVC, blueprint reading, cast iron, and general mechanical skills.
Experience in commercial construction, particularly in schools, warehouses, medical centers, apartments, or community centers.
1-3 years of experience in the commercial plumbing/pipefitting industry.

Work Environment
1st shift, starting from 6am to 2/3pm, with 8-9 hour shifts. Required PPE includes steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, reflective vest, and impact drill. The company will provide other tools needed for the job. Your start time may depend on the project assigned. Projects will involve commercial construction at various job sites in Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Holland, Muskegon, and Comstock areas. You will work around other trades, while production is ongoing, and collaborate with a team of 2-10 partners to achieve daily goals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
