- Proficiency with Precision Measuring Instruments: including tools like micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- The candidate needs to be proficient in interpreting and applying GDandT principles to ensure parts meet specifications.
- The ability to read and understand complex technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications to ensure parts meet design requirements.
- Precision in detecting even minor discrepancies between the part and the blueprint.
- Ability to perform both dimensional checks (measuring size, form, and features) and visual inspections to detect defects.
- Documenting inspection findings, non-conformities, and any corrective actions needed.
- Familiarity with the relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, ASME, ASTM) in the manufacturing and inspection processes.
- The ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and recommend corrective actions when parts don't meet specifications.
