Interra Credit Union Commercial Credit Intern - COMME001534 in Goshen, Indiana

Interra Credit Union is seeking a motivated and driven individual looking to join our Commercial Credit team and has a high level of interest in credit analysis and commercial lending in the finance industry. As a Commercial Credit Intern, you will support the Commercial Credit Department by assisting with administrative tasks and have the opportunity to gain experience alongside commercial and/or agribusiness lenders. You will be responsible for providing support with underwriting, analysis, and monitoring of new and existing loan relationships. Attention to detail is a must while ensuring expectations are exceeded, deadlines are met, and the overall reputation of the lenders and the Credit Union are prioritized. Requires an advanced level of member service and communication skills plus the ability to work with a team environment.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Assist Commercial and/or Agribusiness Lenders with gathering financial statements, report preparation, and any documentation needed for preliminary credit analysis done by the Credit Analysts.

  • Assist Commercial and/or Agribusiness Lenders, and Credit Analysts with special projects such as data entry and data organization.

  • Assist Commercial and/or Agribusiness Lenders with preparation for prospecting, member visits, and loan closings.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, in addition to all Interra policies.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experience

Basic knowledge of business processes and interpretation. Must be technical savvy and demonstrate a high level of competency using spreadsheets and word processing. Attention to detail and follow-through required. Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education / Certifications / Licenses

Minimum of one year of college coursework specific to Business Management or related field. Minimum GPA of 3.0. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

  • Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
