job purpose : Continuous Improvement leader at Goodyear manufacturing facility. Leads the implementation of a continuous-improvement program; set routines, improves policies, procedures, and processes, lead change management, and advises and assists personnel. Facilitates CI process and training to include Five S and Visual Management, Eight Wastes, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work and other Continuous Improvement activities.

responsibilities:

  • Leads the implementation of Continuous-Improvement programs.

  • Clearly defines program objectives and scope.

  • Monitors and reports on plant downtime and trends.

  • Leads Root Cause Analysis process for the site.

  • Defines initiatives to eliminate failures and leads implementation.

  • Establishes clear and well-articulated implementation plans.

  • Resolves technical problems: e.g., formulation, equipment, product, interpretation of regulations, resource availability.

  • Secures employee commitment for proactive change management.

  • Evaluates and prioritizes potential improvements based on gains and required effort.

  • Establishes criteria for the project success and prepares a sound statement of constraints.

  • Realistically defines specific project charters.

  • Verifies the sustainability of CI initiatives.

  • Identifies available resources: people, material, finances, etc.

  • Provides managers with sound advice and support in developing communication strategies.

  • Identifies training needs.

  • Imparts relevant work methods and tools.

  • Provides appropriate support to department managers in maintaining implementation of the continuous-improvement initiatives within their respective sectors.

  • An active coach, leading from the front, for our Daily Direction setting process.

  • Acts as the driving force and coach behind our 90-day plan loss tree/glide path process.

  • Having a strong floor presence and a willingness to support all shifts as needed.

skills/qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in engineering, business, or technical discipline from an accredited college or university

  • 10 years of proven project management and process improvement skills including;

  • Strong knowledge of TPM, RCA, and other Lean processes

  • Certifications preferred

  • Experience in process improvement implementation in regulated industry preferred

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to create strong working relationships driving results through influence

  • Ability to gather, analyze, and draw logical conclusions from large amounts of data

  • Proficient in MS Office products (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Proficient in basic data analysis with PowerBI

  • Experience training others in the use RCA or TPM process

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Experience managing direct reports

  • Budget management and project justification experience

  • Must believe there is no finish line for Continue Improvement while daily supporting a culture that believes in better

food safety requirements:

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.

  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.

  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.

  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.

  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.

  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
