Overview Tecolote Research, Inc. is seeking a Billing Specialist to work in the Corporate Accounting group. This position will directly support the generation of monthly project-based invoices for the companys government and prime contractor customers and will be involved in reconciliation and collection related activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly invoices for federal (primarily DoD) contract types
• Review project billing setup for accuracy of information entered into Costpoint
• Submits invoices to the customer per contractual requirements which may include submission via various payment portals
• Prepares funding analysis worksheets as required to ensure billings are within contractual limitations
• Involved with resolving customer payment issues
• Works with internal and external customers to troubleshoot and solve billing issues
• Participate in activities to improve the efficiency of the billing process

Skills Required

• Advanced MS Excel skills required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, monitor workflow, and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Ability to interpret, extract and analyze data from various database applications
• Understanding of government contracting (primarily DoD) and contract types as it relates to billings desired
• Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of FAR/DFAR, Cost Accounting Standards, Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) and Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), and different project types is a plus
• Experience working with billing in Deltek Costpoint is a plus
• Salary Range: $62,000 - $75,000 /Year, DOE

Education

• Bachelors degree (business, accounting, finance or related field) or 4 years experience in an accounting or contracts related role
