Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Golden Valley, Minnesota

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Golden Valley, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate records of employee payments, benefits, and deductions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Time and Attendance process in the payroll software and ensure any time not recorded in the system is gathered and submitted accurately.

• Calculate and process various payments such as PTO payouts, bonuses, retroactive pay, and other related payments.

• Monitor benefits and deductions to ensure accurate withholding as set up by the Payroll Supervisor.

• Compile and submit certified payrolls and monthly utilization reports as required for federal and state contracts.

• Process and reconcile monthly union fringe benefit and dues reports and payment requests.

• Review and validate the accuracy of tax reporting for multiple state and federal agencies on a quarterly and annual basis and collaborate to address any discrepancies.

• Maintain accruals for vacation and sick leave policies within the payroll system and conduct regular audits for accuracy.

• Update the payroll database with employee new hires, transfers, changes, and terminations as required.

• Assist the accounting department in reconciling general ledger accounts associated with the payroll process, including benefits, deductions, and taxes.

• Calculate and report workers' compensation to CA State Fund and record them in the accounts payable system.

• Support financial, workers' compensation, and 401k audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory

• Experience with Ceridian is desired

• Familiarity with About Time software is advantageous

• Knowledge of Viewpoint Vista is considered a plus

• Experience with bi-Monthly Payroll is required

• Understanding of Automated Payroll processes is essential

• Certification in Payroll (Certified Payroll) is preferred
