The System and Infrastructure Architect will play a key role in designing, extending, and overseeing a robust, secure, and highly scalable IoT platform architecture and infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in cloud architecture who can drive initiatives around platform capabilities, scalability, cost management, security, and low-effort system management. The architect will define technical strategies aligned with business goals, guide development and operations teams, and ensure adherence to best practices across architecture and code quality. As a technical leader, the architect will foster collaboration, manage technical risks, and provide mentorship to help the team deliver a reliable, high-performance system.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 4+ years experience in systems and infrastructure

  • 10+ years experience in engineering

  • 12+ years experience in architecture building systems in cloud environments

  • Ability to monitor and manage platform costs to ensure efficient resource utilization and budget alignment.

  • Proven experience overseeing security and scalability for cloud platforms, implementing best practices for IAM, data protection, network security, and automated scaling.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop mid- to long-term technical strategies that align with business objectives, with a focus on future scalability, security, and performance optimization.

  • Skilled in designing platform and system architectures, creating detailed documentation. Ability to analyze functional and non-functional requirements, and development both high level platform architecture and detailed system architecture to meet those requirements.

  • Strong background in evaluating new products, services, and architectural approaches. Ability to lead technology decision-making processes and assess the impact of new technologies.

  • Experience leading architecture review sessions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment across various projects and stakeholders.

  • Ability and aptitude to provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing opportunities for team members to promote skill development within the team. WE VALUE:

  • Hands on experience designing, developing, and operating a large scale IoT platform.

  • Proven track record of identifying, managing, and mitigating major technical risks and dependencies across the project lifecycle.

  • Experience prioritizing and planning the resolution of technical debt, ensuring it does not compromise system integrity and performance.

  • Experience overseeing code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to established standards. Skilled at providing feedback to enforce best practices in coding and design.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing expertise during critical production incidents, and supporting efforts to maintain system availability.

  • Experience maintaining and updating architectural diagrams, design documents, and technical guidelines for the As-Is and To-Be platform and system architecture.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or other Azure certifications.

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with program management to align technical strategies with project goals, providing input on technical aspects of planning and execution.

  • Willingness and ability to participate in on-call support to assist with critical issues and maintain system stability during high-impact periods.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) for custom automation tasks.

  • Knowledge of emerging cloud technologies, such as serverless architecture or edge computing, and a proactive approach to testing and implementing new solutions.

  • Experience using LLM and other AI technologies to improve team productivity, enable system health anomaly detection, and implement platform self-healing.

The typical base salary for this role, ranges from USD $130,000 – 170,000 per year but varies by specific work location. Within a range, Resideo determines base pay for an individual based on various factors, including market conditions, skills, and experience.
