We are looking for skilled HVAC Technicians to lead the effective, efficient, and timely delivery of our line of services. HVAC Technicians are mobile and use multiple trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, locksmith, painting and roofing for a wide variety of customers in an assigned geographical territory. Technicians are provided a company van, tools and equipment. Technicians are based at their home address and access their daily route through a company provided iPad and iPhone. We offer opportunities for skill development through on the job training as well as professional training and education programs.

Job Title: Fire Protection Lead Technician

Job Summary:

The Fire Protection Lead Technician will lead the team of Fire Protection Technicians as part of a larger Facility Maintenance team. The group is responsible for performing fire protection system inspection, testing, repair and service call activity. Needs include fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, emergency lighting, etc. Knowledge of NFPA standards and procedures required. Abilities to complete work on time, lead a team, communicate with the FLS Supervisor, and follow-up with customer are critical. Leadership duties include activities such as: leading team safety meetings and fostering safe, productive work environment; distributing work orders to team members; coordinating with customers, managers and supervisor to ensure everyone is satisfied and up-to-date on work order status.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Balance teamwork load and distribute work orders to team; monitor and respond to incoming urgent or non-urgent requests

  • Schedules regular meetings/visits with the assigned client team (s); conducts training, safety talks, and/or equipment assessments.

  • Interact with customers in professional manner; follow-up communication with customer is critical

  • Complete documentation and forms and submit to manager

  • Test and inspect facility fire safety systems as part of preventive maintenance program or on as-needed basis

  • Interprets related federal, state and local safety and health regulations; develops written programs which address regulatory requirements and safe work practices.

  • Supports and responds to daily team needs across the organization

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, vocational or industry trade school is a plus.

  • 5-6 years related work experience. Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of fire safety systems required.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and practices, and relevant certifications required.

  • NICET III Inspection and Testing Water systems

  • Backflow Prevention

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Interprets related federal, state and local safety and health regulations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to climb or balance. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Will be required to use ladders, boom lifts, scissor lifts, fork trucks and other equipment to accomplish the job.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
