Diageo Assistant Manager EHS in Goa, India
Job Description :
Purpose:
This role is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the EHS policy and procedures for the Unit and adopting high standards and best practices in all aspects of the unit’s operations, educating and building awareness and complying with applicable legislations, statutory and regulatory requirements with the objective of improving the Unit's Environment, Health and Safety performance
Qualification:
B.E/ B.Tech from AICTE/UGC recognized college or MSc Physics/ Chemistry or Diploma in Engineering.
Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from state/central/UT recognized college.
Recognition as Safety Officer from Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers, Goa (Mandatory).
Experience:
Min. 5yrs. in EHS site supervisory role.
Responsibilities:
- Planning
• Implement operationally the laid down EHS principles, standards and guidelines procedures in the Unit
• Assist in EHS Governance through Systems & Procedures implementation in the unit
• Provide real time information to facilitate policy/strategy formulation/ updating.
• Monitor implementation of EHS KPIs and EHS performance at unit level
• Be the Interface between Corporate EHS representatives & Regional/ Unit Management for safety related matters
- Communication:
• Communicate the laid down EHS principles, standards, guidelines procedures to all personnel in the Unit
• Co-ordinate periodic EHS Meetings (monthly) , Management Reviews and provide guidance for EHS Statutory Approval & Compliance
• Conduct EHS Training for all personnel in the unit
- Performance
• Conduct need based Environment, Safety and Fire audits for the unit
• Plan, implement and monitor corrective actions in the unit
• Ensure serious Accidents are reported & investigated with root cause analysis
- Reporting
• Consolidate MIS on Accidents, Safety & Environment Performance to Unit Management to facilitate corrective actions/ decisions
• Develop inputs for Environment & Safety Promotional activities.
- Statutory Compliance
• Thorough understanding of Central and Goa State Pollution Board guidelines for factories.
• Understanding of EC and MoEF guidelines.
• Understanding ISO environmental guidelines.
• Expertise in obtaining CTE/CTO for factories.
• Understanding of monthly reporting and consent guidelines.
• Thorough understanding of Goa Factories Act and its necessary compliances to maintain.
• Knowledge of Labor and workmen act for safe work practices.
• Understanding of OSHA or ISO guidelines for Industrial safety.
