Job Description

What will I be doing?

The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Technical support and focal point for the metallurgical manufacturing areas, including heat treatment, shot peening and thermal spray.

  • Drive the industrialisation (new product introduction) process with a focus on process development, technical data sheets, first article reports etc.

  • Ensuring NADCAP compliance of the responsible areas, continuously developing procedures and practices in line with industrial requirements and regulations.

  • Supporting Capital Expenditure projects.

  • Role is focused on metallurgical processing, routine testing and quality control.

  • Drive innovation in the process areas with new developments of technology to increase quality and efficiency.

  • Ensure robust Root cause corrective action on quality issues as a result of special processing.

  • Assist production efficiency by ensuring calibration, tooling suitability, equipment condition and documentation is up to the required standard.

  • Interact with external suppliers and customers to support requirements of production.

  • Be Flexible and willing to support other Special Process Departments.

  • Strong interdepartmental communication between functions, representing the Special Process globally.

  • The role will report directly to the Special Process Group Manager.

Job Requirements

What do you need from me?

  • Have demonstrated history of flexibility, self-motivation and willingness to learn.

  • Have experience and extensive knowledge of Special Processing – heat treatment, shot peening or thermal spray experience is preferable.

  • Pyrometry experience is preferable.

  • Materials testing experience is preferable – including tensile testing, metallurgical evaluation, impact testing etc.

  • Have experience with audits, both preparation and practical.

  • Have experience with problem solving and quality control and adherence.

  • Have excellent IT and communication skills.

  • Degree qualified or working towards qualification (or equivalent experience).

  • Have extensive experience in continuous improvement, with a history of active involvement in process improvements / technology improvements.

  • Excellent time management.

  • Able to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
