Job Description

We are looking for a Beverage Designer to cover a period of maternity leave for a 12 month period, based at our facilities in Haverhill, Suffolk.

Role Vision:

In this position you will work as part of a highly experienced beverage team with diverse and exciting projects within the beverage category. IFF expects you to cultivate innovation and creativity to assist our customers in enhancing their existing brand portfolios, ensuring the successful launches of their new product lines, in addition to collaborating to develop the category further through innovation that addresses category challenges; creating next generation flavours / ingredients to address market dynamics and changing consumer tastes.

This position both responds to the reactive needs of the business and its execution as well as opportunities for development and mentorship. This post requires a curious person who actively seeks out the many opportunities to challenge current thinking and move the beverage team forward in its development. The Beverage Designer works both independently and as a team member, on all types of customers and IFF brief types. You will provide beverage development support, working closely with the cross category teams on a regional level to drive creation and modification of winning designs and flavours. You will demonstrate creativity in working with a regional team to maximize IFF technology & innovative practices.

Main responsibilities:

Create accurate, innovative and winning taste solutions for beverage

Manage projects in response to customer briefings, to achieve profitable business growth.

Actively build strong multi-level relationships with key customers in partnership with sales team

Positively reinforce a high performing team culture, providing vision and driving engagement.

Collaborate cross functionally and cross regionally to support overall goals of the Beverage Category Europe

Anticipate, investigate, and resolve problems with prototypes as needed.

Utilize IFF technology to deliver unique solutions to the marketplace.

Maintain and renovate recipe databases across all beverage end uses

Clear understanding of the UK/EU Beverage market and legislation and consumer preferences

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

Top level competence in design and delivery systems for beverage end use markets

Expert tasting and evaluation skills in the beverage segment.

Genuine passion and creativity for the beverage category.

Ability to lead customer working sessions, strong ability to listen to customers and manage and deliver upon their expectations.

Self-starter with good time management.

Outstanding team player with excellent communication skills

Required Experience:

Minimum Bachelor (BS) degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, or Life Science or similar

Experience in flavor industry creative function with exposure to cross-functional team roles (specific in the field of beverage design / Flavours)
