Responsibilities

The Vice President of Women's and Family Service Line will provide service line leadership, vision and direction, working in close partnership with executives from the health system, hospital campuses, physician leaders and groups, staff, and within the strategic plan of the organization. The Vice President, along with health system and hospital executive committees will set the strategic direction and growth strategies necessary to ensure the Service Lines successful performance in the marketplace.

The Vice President will play a vital external role in interacting with, influencing and developing both internal and external constituencies to promote the service line throughout the community and neighboring market areas. The Vice President Service Line will also provide strategic leadership and will have overall responsibility for the service line.

Accountable for the overall development, strategic visioning, and operational performance of the service line including but not limited to: Strategic Planning, lnreach/Outreach Development, Collaboration and Coordination with all participating physician groups providing services, Committees, Quality Performance, Financial viability and growth.

The Vice President will work to develop comprehensive access to care including the evaluation, planning and implementation of both inpatient and outpatient innovative care models. The Vice President Service Line will also develop and maintain a positive relationship and interaction with other service line leaders towards the enhancement of physician, patient, and employee satisfaction, and quality improvement initiatives.

The Vice President will lead the management of the service line, serves as the content expert, and coordinates the use of human and financial resources to ensure the service line(s) operate efficiently, effectively, safely and timely. Manages service line contracts and service agreements.

  • Establish market strategy, service offerings and clinical program.

  • Evaluate, develop, and adapt the business processes of the clinical service line(s) to meet the ever changing healthcare environment and needs of patients and families.

  • Responsible for programmatic growth, physician recruitment, alignment or acquisitions; the evaluation, development and adaptation of clinical/business processes for the service line.

  • Facilitate a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and accountability across disciplines within the service line.

  • Coordinate with physician leadership to identify clinical and non-clinical technology, software, and equipment needs in support of the service line.

  • Partner with physician lead to implement clinical standards and programs; new programs and services, in an efficient/cost effective manner to provide a unified approach to care delivery.

  • Develop and implement cost, Clinical Process Reliability (CPR), and efficiency plans. Identify necessary resources for patient care and programmatic development.

  • Collaborate with Population Health leaders to improve health outcomes within the community.

  • Develop and market expanded and/or new services in response to innovation, technology, strategic developments or compensation consistent with the goals of the clinical service.

  • Partner with other key departments to develop short and long range strategic plans for the service, operating and capital budgets, and an integrated strategic and financial plan.

  • Keep abreast of regulatory, legal, reimbursement changes, and industry trends. Establish appropriate database registries, certifications, and external benchmark reasons to deliver outstanding clinical care.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Work Experience:

  • 10 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

  • 5 years service line experience preferred.

  • 5-7 years leadership and management experience preferred.

  • Success in building/operating Women's and Family Service Line is required.

  • Hospital operations and administration
