Amergis Behavioral Technician - School Setting & Summer School in Glendale, California
Description of Role:
Must be in or near the Glendale area by 7:30am , which is when Glendale USD's coordinator will assign a case for the day.
Assigned day-of to cover absences at any school to work with any population (ES/MS/HS), in any classroom setting (e.g. mild/moderate, moderate/severe), and in any position (classroom support, 1:1, or embedded).
Must be flexible with traveling to multiple school sites as necessary (on a weekly basis).
Must accept any assignment by the district regardless of nature of case and location (This is a non-negotiable)!
Expectations:
Must be able to build rapport with students and staff, as well as remain flexible and professional at all times
Provide instructional and behavioral support as needed to the teacher and classroom staff
Have a strong foundational knowledge of ABA principles (e.g., identifying functions of behavior, implementing preventative strategies, prompting functional communication)
Be familiar with common data collection methods (e.g., frequency, duration)
Be able to quickly review a student’s IEP or BIP for further guidance on individualized behavior management strategies and goals
Utilize visual supports without being explicitly told (e.g., visual schedule, token board)
Duties may include assisting students with toileting, bathroom routines, diaper/brief changing
Qualifications:
2+ years (preferred) as a Behavioral Technician/Therapist/Interventionist
2+ years of ABA experience (preferred)
Experience working with a range of behaviors (e.g. mild/moderate, moderate/severe)
Minimum education requirement is a HS diploma
NOTE: Theposition is an ongoingassignment (Monday-Friday) and ranges 30-35 hours per week . The starting pay rate 25+ per hour (dependenton skills, qualifications, and experience).
