Insight Global Security Design Engineer in Glen Allen, Virginia
Job Description
Insight Global is searching for a Security Design Engineer to support our client in Richmond VA. This individual's responsibilities include hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout. They will collaborate with Project Leads, Clients, and fellow designers/engineers to develop innovative solutions. They will design, estimate, and configure security systems, create technical data packages, integrate security subsystems, and coordinate drawings and equipment schedules. Additionally, they will assist in loading and commissioning controllers, validate system functionality, troubleshoot issues, provide field change information, and keep management informed of job progress.
Additional Responsibilities:
Designs, estimates, and configures technically functional security systems, including enterprise security head end systems
Creates drawing packages (technical data packages), sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical requirements
Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required
Provides field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software
Serves as the Security/Low Voltage systems expert in application engineering

Skills and Requirements
3 years of field experience as an electronic technician
Demonstrated knowledge of the Integrated / Electronic Security System (ESS) Alarm industry
Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety of Security Alarm building and other building subsystems Proficiency with Tier 1 systems like Genetech, Milestone, Avigilon, and/or Softwarehouse C-cure 9000
Experience working with AutoCAD and Visio
Experience with pre-sales engineering development of Security Alarm building sub-systems projects null
