Aerotek Quality Inspector in Glastonbury, Connecticut
Description:
This will also include performing inspection procedures including checking dimensions of related surfaces, holes, etc., as well as assessment of finish and detection of undesirable nonconformance
They will be required to approve items within specifications and recommend disposition of items not meeting standards
They will be responsible for verifying identification of part and supplier (internal or outside supplier)
Ability to visually, dimensionally and final inspect major rotating components such as disks, shafts, air seals drums, and hubs
Work with shop personnel to assist operators in setting up gages, and performing in-process inspections
Completes specific assurance checklists during the process
Performs dimensional checks of parts while in the machine when necessary
Rejects unacceptable items, documents nonconformance, and moves the part to the quality clinic
Completes required company paperwork on machined parts inspection activity

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must be able to read, write, and understand English
Ability to verify conformance of machined features using measuring instruments such as a micrometer, caliper, swing gage, etc
Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action tools (5 why’s, Fishbone, etc.)
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data
