WSP USA Assistant Consultant / Consultant (Geo-environmental) in Glasgow, United Kingdom

In today’s world it’s important to work for a company that has clear purpose, giving back to communities and supporting what is truly important in the world.

When considering a career move it’s vital to work for a business that is aligned to your values and goals, a place where you can belong. See what WSP stands for in 2024 and beyond…

At WSP, you’ll find yourself challenged in more fascinating and far-reaching ways than ever before. You’ll explore new and inspiring opportunities to make the most of your expertise, broaden your professional horizons and create exciting new possibilities for people, organisations and society in general.

The overall objective of this role is to provide support to the WSP’s Ground & Water (contaminated land) team in Scotland and the wider UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of projects, working closely with and being supported by team members, project managers and project directors. Activities will typically include investigating, assessing and overseeing the remediation of contaminated sites with a significant component of field works transitioning with time and experience towards factual and interpretative reporting, technical expertise, client liaison and project management.

The position would suit an individual with a background in Environmental Geoscience, and/or site investigation and looking to move into consultancy. Post-graduate experience in undertaking site investigations, groundwater and ground gas monitoring, sample collection activities and supervision of contractors is required; nonetheless, we would assess each candidate on their merits. The role will require time both in the office and on-site. Site works are primarily based in Scotland but travel to and working on sites across the whole of the UK and potentially internationally may also be required.

The individual will proactively demonstrate both personal and technical development by seeking out formal training and exposure to projects and different teams.
